Shot music video with our friend, Matt Riecken - so much FUN! It was cold, but we inadvertently got the timing just right with the desert flowers : ) Matt's a pro and it was a fun learning experience too...making it look like a warm spring day whilst leisurely playing guitar and tra-la-la-ing --- in reality it was 50° F, with a wind-chill factor of F-ing cold (about 43° F according to this wind chill calculator, with 18 mph winds)! Every time Matt yelled "CUT!" Stephan would set down camera 2 and then run over and wrap a blanket or jacket around me. We all made a good team : ) I can't wait to see how it turned out!

SOLD OUT - I've sold out of all tickets allotted to me for the Made in Reno show - with the immense help of my amaZing bf, awesome friends and fantastic fans! Special thanks to Tyler Stafford, who also contributed a portion of his ticket sales. THANK YOU - we surpassed our goal for Damian and his family!! For more info see Damian Latham-Finn Fund.

New website launched! : ) OMG

3-16-11

I have tickets to the 3rd Annual Made in Reno show! Email me: sophie@sophiesongs.com. Tickets are $10. I am donating 100% of my portion of ticket sales - $5 of each ticket sale - to the Damian Latham-Finn Fund.

Damian is four years old and recently diagnosed with leukemia. If you remember Sophie & the Probiotics™, you may remember kick-arse bassist, Robert Finn. Robert is Damian's father. Robert still plays kick-arse bass with many folks in Portland, Oregon and beyond.

Even if you can't make it to the show, please consider buying a ticket and donating it to someone who can go.\

Howdy folks,

Sad news: sorry to say the Java Jungle show originally scheduled for this Sunday, May 2nd, has been canceled.

Good News: The show with the Dovekins on Wednesday was awesome! The Dovekins are wonderful musicians and writers. They are also very kind, genuine, and dedicated people. For those of you not in the facebook loop, the Dovekins' bus broke down in Salt Lake City, UT, on their way to Reno. They were so determined and committed to making the Reno show, they hitch-hiked a ride with an amazing and generous trucker. They had to leave behind 2 band members with their bus while it was being repaired. So 3/5 of them packed minimal musical equipment and made it way all the way to Reno...and put an amazing show. How inspiring is all that?! And special thanks to Chico, who plays drums with me occasionally and also for the band Hellbound Glory. Chico donated his drum kit to Dovekins for the evening. I lent a mandolin and acoustic guitar. So it all worked out beautifully : )

And there were surprise musical guests from Santa Cruz, Dorota on fiddle and Matthew on guitar. They're wonderful and call themselves Matador. What a fun show!

Hope to see you Sunday, May 9 at Holland Project
