Spaceboy aka Andy Dicus aka And Rew: drums and so much more
Andy’s jazzy sensibility lent him an eloquent match for the project. His innovative use of brushes, washboard, kazoo, and whatever else he or Sophie deemed appropriate, is earthy and refreshing on this album. Andy has also been known to back Sophie on mandolin and the occasional “do-op.” As if that weren't enough talent for one person, Andy is also a fine painter and writer; and he is currently teaching and working toward a PhD in English [+] in New York City!
Neil Greene: electric bass and electric guitar
Neil's electric guitar playing gives Sophie’s songs a smidgeon of rock-a-billy in just the right places. Neil is also a solo artist (singer/songwriter) and leads the band 5thirty5.
John Butler: violin
John's style is classical without the sap on “Vomiting Flowers,” creepy without the contrived on “Bye-Bye Bipedal Parasite.” John is also a fine graphic artist/designer and swell guy.
